Hello Mr World (Michael Foreman)
A beautifully illustrated book that appeals to a very young audience explaining the effects of climate change inspiring us all to make a difference. Mr World is examined by the doctor as he isn’t feeling well. He’s a hot, sweaty mess that is finding it difficult to breathe. A wonderful tale for children aged 3+.
The Promise (Nicola Davies)
On a mean street in a mean city, a thief attempts to snatch an old ladies handbag. She is confronted by the super hero like strength of the old women who refuses to let go of the bag without the theif promising something in return- to “plant them all”. When it turns out that the bag is full of acorns, the young robber embarks on a journey that changes not only her life, but also the generations to come.
A story loved by young and old, particularly primary school children aged 5+
The Lorax (Dr Seuss)
The personal favourite of author Dr Seuss, he creates a timeless fable that chronicles the plight of the environment without feeling heavy-handed. Loved by primary school children, it addresses economic issues and corporate greed and environmental concerns with relateable characters and a happy ending story the empowers the reader.
Best loved by children aged 5+
